How it works

From the first photo to a tidy job site.

  1. Step 1

Photo for a quick remote estimate

Send through a clear shot of the break and we'll give you a ballpark before we visit.

  2. Step 2

    Same-day board-up if needed

If the break is a security or weather risk, we can secure the opening straight away while the new glass is on order.

  3. Step 3

On-site measure for the new glass

Every replacement glass is measured to the actual opening, not assumed from spec sheets.

  4. Step 4

    Glass ordered to NZBC requirements

Where the location requires safety or laminated glass under building code, that's what we order. No shortcuts.

  5. Step 5

    Fitted, sealed, and tested

New glass set into the frame with fresh seals or tape, cleaned, checked for water-tightness.

Free quotes once we've measured. Quoting is on a per-pane basis depending on glass type, thickness, and access. Emergency board-up is included where the break is a security risk.

FAQ

Broken Glass Replacement questions

Common questions we get about broken glass replacement across Christchurch and Canterbury.

How fast can you replace broken glass?
Standard residential single-glazed glass is usually 3 to 5 working days from measure-up. Custom IGUs and laminated or toughened units take 1 to 2 weeks because they're cut to order.
What about the gap before the new glass arrives?
We can board up the opening on the same day as the assessment if the break is a security or weather risk. The board-up is removed and the proper glass fitted on the return visit.
Is it cheaper to replace just the glass or the whole window?
Glass-only is almost always cheaper. We only suggest replacing the whole window if the frame is damaged, corroded, or beyond economical repair.
Can you replace failed double-glazed units?
Yes. Foggy or condensation-affected IGUs are a common job. We replace the glass unit only, leaving your existing aluminium frame in place.
Do you replace shopfront and commercial glass?
Yes. We do residential and commercial work across Christchurch and Canterbury, including retail shopfronts and tenancy fit-outs.
