Window and door locks for aluminium joinery

Repairs, replacements, and rekeys for aluminium window and door locks across Christchurch and Canterbury. Multi-points, espags, keyed sash fasteners, sliding door locks. Residential and commercial.

What we fix
  • Lock that won't engage or stays stuck open
  • Key turning but bolt not moving
  • Lost keys (rekey rather than full replacement where possible)
  • Multi-point door mechanisms that have failed
  • Espagnolette locks on awning windows seized or broken
  • Loose or broken sliding door locks
  • Keyed sash fasteners due for replacement
  • Upgrading to higher-security locks while keeping existing joinery
Signs you need this
  • Key won't turn, or turns without doing anything
  • Door doesn't pull tight to the frame when locked
  • Lock feels gritty, sticky, or inconsistent
  • You've lost keys and want a rekey rather than replacement
  • Multi-point door is hard to operate or won't engage all points
  • You're being asked by insurance or council to upgrade to keyed sash fasteners
How it works

From the first photo to a tidy job site.

  1. Step 1

    Diagnose the failure

We work out whether it's lubrication, alignment, a worn cylinder, or a failed mechanism. That decides whether to repair or replace.

  2. Step 2

    Repair where possible

Lubrication, adjustment, cylinder rekey, or mechanism overhaul. Cheaper than replacement where the unit is sound.

  3. Step 3

    Replace where past it

Where the lock is worn out or no longer secure, we fit a current equivalent. Brand-matched or upgraded to a higher security spec.

  4. Step 4

    Test and tag

Every lock we touch gets tested, keys cut and labelled, and any spare keys handed over before we leave.

FAQ

Locks & Security questions

Common questions we get about locks & security across Christchurch and Canterbury.

My key won't turn. Can you fix it without replacing the whole lock?
Often yes, especially if it's a lubrication or alignment issue. If the cylinder is worn or the bolt mechanism has failed inside, replacement is usually cleaner than chasing a repair.
Can you rekey rather than replace?
For most lock types, yes. Saves the cost of new hardware and you get fresh keys with the same lock. Useful when keys have been lost or after a tenant change.
Do you supply higher-security locks?
Yes. We can upgrade to NZ-rated security locks compatible with your existing aluminium joinery without changing the joinery itself.
Do you handle commercial shopfronts and offices?
Yes. Multi-point locks on commercial doors and shopfronts are a regular job for us, including key-alike systems across multiple openings.
Do you offer keyed window stays for insurance compliance?
Yes. Keyed sash fasteners on awning and casement windows for compliance with insurance or rental property requirements.
